Professional Services Engineer

Atlanta - Full-time - Remote

Mend is seeking a highly motivated and experienced engineer for our global Professional Services team!

Location: United States (Home Office)

As a Professional Services Engineer, you will be part of the Customer Experience department. You will become a trusted advisor for Mend’s customers and will be engaging with them to understand their needs, assist them with ensuring the successful implementation of Mend’s solutions and develop extensions to Mend’s products to complement their requirements. You will also work closely with the Product Management, Engineering, Sales and Customer Success teams, and will be the customer voice in internal discussions. This is a hands-on position where you will have a direct impact on customers, combining aspects of consultation and solution architecture, as well as application development.



  • 3+ years of experience in a technically oriented, customer-facing role (Professional Services, Solution Architecture, Sales Engineering, Technical Account Management, Customer Support, etc.), preferably with SaaS products.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and service orientation.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to present to an audience and effectively convey ideas and concepts.
  • A clear understanding of the software development process, from requirement gathering and design through delivery.
  • Ability to understand and transform business requirements to technical requirements, and vice versa.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask, manage time, and cope well with constant context-switch.
  • Experience working with enterprise customers and complex environments.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD flows and software development best practices.
  • Proficiency working in Linux-based environments, including basic administration, scripting, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience in software development, whether through formal roles or informal projects.
  • Hands-on experience with software development or scripting, specifically in Python, JS, Java, or Shell.
  • Advantage: experience with DevOps tools, developer integrations and REST API.
  • Advantage: Understanding of container technologies and orchestration tools.
  • Advantage: Full-stack development.
  • Advantage: Familiarity with the Application Security market.
